The main goal of the study is to highlight the importance of ICT in trade facilitation to improve business competitiveness at cross-border trade in Myanmar. Specifically, the study identified the following objectives: To create a common understanding of the ICT for development (ICT4D), in general, and ICT in trade facilitation, in particular; To identify the important elements that influence business competitiveness at the cross-border trade; To explain the concept of trade facilitation and its efficacy in enhancing business competitiveness; To explore the key drivers on Single Window implementation, how ICTs overcome obstacles and their impacts on businesses; To promote the formulation of consistent national policies on ICT for development and sensitize the need for government leadership in making ICT an effective tool for development; and To develop a framework of national ICT policies for development and recommendations for defining the role and limitation of government and other parties in developing ICT into an effective tool for development, including services expected to be rendered by international organizations.
